Grieving Creatively

Many years ago, I scrapbooked. A lot. Since other interests and business pursuits and obligations have taken up so much of my time in recent years, I have done only a handful of pages in the same number of years.

However, that is about to change. I already recorded too few memories of our short time with Levi on film. Now, while those memories are still as fresh as possible, I intend to scrapbook them all, and some that don't have pictures, too.

It's been hard--really hard--going through photos the last few days. Seeing him in the living room, or the hallway, or in any other situation which happened hundreds or thousands of times, I experience a weird displacement when I emerge from my office and go to those places and am hit again by the fact that he won't ever be there again.

Except in my memory.
